Welcome to another episode of Timeline’d! Sponsored by Wormhole. Wormhole, improving your life, for you. Today, three (un)lucky participants shall blast to the past in search of the most historical artifact, all for a million dollars! What could possibly go wrong? Certainly not the complete collapse of the entire timeline and the rise of a completely different dystopia.

The writing process for Timeline’! started with a question – what are some unorthodox applications of future technology? Timeline’d! answers this question with a game show that utilizes time travel for little more than entertainment. From there, the question became what sort of world would create such a program, the answer naturally being a corporate dystopia with a rigid hierarchy.

I want to highlight the dynamic between Drew and Lou, lovers and corporate overlords; throughout the script Drew is constantly seen taking the lead, the ideas man, the personality, whilst Lou serves as a second in command. Yet, reading between the lines, this world is Lou’s dream. Wormhole may lead the world, and Drew may lead Wormhole, but Lou leads Drew.

Oh, and Clone Nixon is fantastic too.
