Vision

Precious Winners All: Shakespeare Shooketh Up was a devised show that used Shakespeare’s characters and words as voices for the rawest of feelings. Envy, lust, control, and fear all swirling at the pinnacle of human emotion, each given truth through Shakespeare.

Through this celebration we find the Jailors Daughter from The Two Noble Kinsmen, Coriolanus and Aufidius from Coriolanus, Leonato from Much Ado About Nothing, and many more; these characters so caught up in their emotion that it eventually consumes them, as they each fall in exhaustion by the end of the play.

As dramaturg, I primarily focused on Shakespeare himself, separating myth from fact, general character analysis as well as how perceptions of the characters portrayed in Precious Winners All and how their thematic representations have shifted over time.
